I went grocery shopping Friday afternoon...by myself...haven't had the chance to do that in a LONG time! It was peaceful but half the time I couldn't decide on some things to get because I didn't have to kids there telling me what they wanted! I'm pretty sure I spent more time in Wal-Mart by myself than when all of us go!

So anyways to the point...this is nothing extravagant. Just hoping I can get through these next 6 weeks as easily as possible until Baby Boy gets here.

17th- BBQ chicken, corn on the cob, mashed potatoes
18th- Hamburger patties, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans
19th- Turkey roll ups, mac and cheese, squash
20th- Sloppy Joe casserole, peas
21st- Meatloaf, squash, rice
22nd- Grilled sandwiches, french fries
23rd- Pork chops, baked potatoes, corn
24th- Taco casserole
25th- Breakfast bagels, hash browns
26th- Sausage muffins, eggs
27th- Gumbo (freezer)
28th- Bacon and egg quesadillas

29th-30th- I'm not cooking...or I might throw one of these days in place of another night that I don't feel like cooking...either way there will be 2 nights in here that I'm not cooking!

Hope everyone has a great week!

I read this book in 5 days! It was actually a very helpful book and I kept wanting to read to find out more ideas. A lot of what is written is pure common sense but Pam McClellan offers some great advice as well. In my opinion if you are feeling like a slave to your housework then you should definitely read this book!

When I read I always have a notebook nearby to keep notes instead of marking up the pages. Plus, I borrowed this book from the library so I couldn’t do that anyways.

This book gives good pointers on creating a cleaning schedule, ways of preventing more work for yourself, and quick ways of making the housework easier to name a few.

I tend to clean every day. I feel like that’s all that I ever do. I never have time for myself, my husband, or my family. By taking some of the advice she has written I believe that I can turn this around. Since I stay at home while Drew works I feel like I should be the one taking care of everything. The kids have to be told 52 billion times to pick up their messes so we must implement a better routine for chores. In the book it talks about enlisting the help of others in your household to help you get things done. While I feel like as a mom/wife this is my job I don’t think it would hurt if Drew or the kids did a little more to help out.

Overall I feel like this is a helpful book and would recommend it to anyone needing help freeing themselves from their household slavery!

Ashley
The Domesticated Housewifehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16482179566228482753noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7622873231052474382.post-47319874385164510452011-01-10T12:22:00.001-06:002011-01-10T12:25:21.828-06:00Booking it 2011 - Reading List

I still can't seem to come up with a good plan on what time to be able to actually sit down in quiet to read. Something seems to happen every day where either I can't finish my reading or can't start the day at all!

I think I'm making excuses for myself and that's definitely what I DON'T want to be doing! I need to pray harder about this!

As of right now I'm actually only caught up through part of day 6. So today I want to get totally caught up and MAKE A PLAN TO STAY ON TRACK!!!

I've really enjoyed the reading so far and I'm still excited to be participating in this! Could you say a prayer for me as well?
I couldn’t be more excited! I feel like I’m not very prepared though. We’ve been buying things he will need but there is still PLENTY that we don’t have. I have never been much of a procrastinator and I’m not sure why I have been with this baby! It’s actually quite aggravating to me.

I don’t feel like my house is prepared for the time that I will be down after we get home. I wanted to have a stocked freezer and pantry so that cooking won’t be a big deal and my family doesn’t starve. That hasn’t happened yet. I have a few things in the freezer but nothing that will last for more than a few days after we come home. Our pantry isn’t very well stocked either. There are a few things that would amount to some sort of meal but that’s about it. There isn’t much to snack on for the kids (or me). I’ve got my work cut out for me at a time when I should be resting!!

I’m making myself some sort of a checklist to make sure everything is done before he gets here but I just feel like I’m missing something. I will realize it after he’s born and we get home and then I will stress over it. UGH!

I still need to do….EVERYTHING!!!!

I certainly hope he doesn’t decide to come early because I’m definitely not prepared for that!!!

I’m the biggest list person there is. I need a list for everything I do or I feel off. So over the next few days I’m going to be making some lists to help me get prepared for my little man’s arrival! I’ll post them as I go and maybe it will help someone else too!

I swear I feel like I’m becoming a parent for the first time. I feel like I have forgotten everything there is about a new baby! It has been almost 7 years since I have had a newborn but I didn’t think you could forget things like this. I’m totally lost!

Any moms out there want to help me cover the bases? Or you get overwhelmed at the thought of all the cleaning that needs to be done. I know I do! But if you really think about it there is so much you can get done in 10 minutes or less...or 5 minutes...or even 2 minutes. Really...there is...

You can get alot accomplished without ever really losing any time. In the time it takes to cook something in the microwave you could have knocked an item off of your to do list instead of watching the food hoping it will get done faster.

Here's some ideas:

2 minutes or lessUnload the dishwasher
Wipe down the kitchen counters (unless you have a really big kitchen)
Clean the faucet and mirror in one bathroom
Wipe a small spill in the refrigerator
Wipe down the washer and dryer
Clean the lint filter in the dryer
Wipe down your coffee pot
Wipe the switch plates in 1 room
Shake out door mats
Disinfect the door knobs in 1 room

See how much you can get done?

5 minutes or lessDust 1 room
Sort through mail
Take out the garbage
Clean the kitchen sink
Clean out expired or unwanted items from refrigerator
Make the bed in 1 room
Wipe the fronts of cabinets in the kitchen
Set the table for the next meal
Rinse out kid's lunch boxes
Spray air freshener throughout the house
Fold a load of laundry
Make tomorrow's to do list
Balance your checkbook
Check your cleaning supplies and make list of what you need

Now we are making progress !!!

10 minutes or lessSort through a junk drawer
Scrub the toilet, bath tub, and sink in 1 bathroom
Clean all the mirrors in your house
Vacuum 1 room (or more depending on the room sizes)
Sort dirty laundry
Load dishwasher
Organize 1 cabinet in the kitchen
Clean out your purse
Make a shopping list
Group all the clothes in your closet by category (pants, shirts, dresses...etc)

See how easy that was!!

By just taking a few minutes here and there throughout the day you can get so much done that you didn't think was possible! In just 10 minutes you could get 1, 2, or even 5 things marked off your to do list! If you are a fast worker you could possibly get even more done! The time for procrastination is gone...get up and get something done...now!!
Don't put off what you can do NOW!

I'm headed to unload and reload the dishwasher so that I can wake up to a clean kitchen in the morning! Hope everyone has had a great weekend!!

Kelly from The Morris Tribe wrote about taking time to dream. Some people would say that dreams aren't a good thing for you to have. I disagree with that as well.

Dreams are fun! Dreams take you to places that you normally could not go with people that possibly could never be there with you.

Dreams let your imagination run wild. They let you create something that you want and give you the satisfaction at the moment of what it would feel like if that dream were to come true.

I have dreams day and night. I think that they are different kinds of dreams though.

During the day I might dream about having a huge farm with lots of animals, fields of planted crops, and a big white house with a wrap-a-round porch. I dream of visiting Italy and other places as well. I have dreams of winning an enormous amount of money and all the people I could help and things I could buy for my family. I know that these dreams will probably never happen but it's fun to imagine them as if it could.

My night time dreams are crazy! It could possibly be the pregnancy hormones but who knows. Alot of times I dream about my grandparents who have passed and what I would tell them if I could see them one more time. Sometimes they are in my dreams just as if they were never gone. It's a comforting thought to have them so near even though I know they really won't be there when I wake up.

Dreams can also give you the push you need to possibly get further than you ever have before. Dreams are a good thing. Keep dreaming and don't let anyone tell you differently! The Domesticated Housewifehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16482179566228482753noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7622873231052474382.post-51418517208772625612011-01-07T11:13:00.000-06:002011-01-07T11:13:46.073-06:00It's F-R-I-D-A-Y!!I don't know why that excites me so much since I'm a SAHM...it's not like I get up and go to work everyday and I surely don't get the weekends off at home either.

I supposed it's because it's 2 days of spending ALL day and night doing fun stuff with the kids! I usually have an idea of some activities for us to do after I pick the kids up from school...but I'm a little unprepared today. This has been a hectic week for me and my brain has been all over the place.

I'm spending more time on unimportant things than what IS important. I've got to come up with a better time management plan for myself so that I can stop wasting time and accomplish the things that need to be done!

Anyways the high for today is supposed to be in the 60s so I'm guessing we will most definitely be outside when the kids get home...they can't get enough of that trampoline...or bike riding...or well anything outside.

Next week the highs are only in the 30s so we will be stuck inside...got to get their energy out this weekend (as if that is possible)

What plans do you have with your family this weekend??

Years ago I had a closet full of cute clothes. I bought new shoes weekly. I loved to go out and wear my high heels. My hair was regularly cut and eye brows were waxed. I had a ton of make up and loved trying new things with it.

Then....

I became a mommy. I gained 80 lbs my first pregnancy. I was HUGE all the way around. To say the least I was miserable. And of course when he was born that weight didn't magically disappear. That was almost 7 years ago.

It wasn't until summer of 2009 that I actually got close to that pre-pregnancy weight...about 10 pounds away. Drew and I got engaged. I almost felt like myself again. I bought the most gorgeous wedding dress and looked wonderful in it. We didn't want a long engagement so the wedding was planned for November 7, 2009. In between July and October I didn't try my dress on. The week we were getting married I put the dress on and big surprise it was getting tight...I had gained weight again!!!

Then...

I became a stay at home mom of not only 1 child but 3 more. I was cooking bigger and better meals than before. I was snacking with the kids. I was eating when I was bored. And...I gained more weight. I didn't care what my hair looked like or if my eyebrows were taking over my face. I hardly ever wear makeup and my hair is mostly in a ponytail. Some days I'm lucky if I even get a shower.

I've lost who I am. Being a mommy is a wonderful thing but that is not all that I am. I am a woman. I have a husband that deserves a wife that takes better pride in herself.

Not anymore though...

I came across the 52 weeks of me challenge and thank goodness I did!! Although I am currently pregnant so I can go off on a weight loss kick. But I can get ME back. I can fix my hair. I can have pretty clothes again. I can look like the 24 year old woman again...tastefully.

So the challenge is to do 1 thing a week that is just for me! I had some big plans for this week but unfortunately they didn't work out.

What did I do then??

Well...I had an eye doctor appointment on Wednesday and I got CONTACTS. I wanted to get rid of the glasses during the day. I felt good about them...until yesterday...I'm having a hard time actually getting them in my eye. Guess it takes practice!

That's what I did for week #1...I got contacts!

Growing up I didn't think that I was too picky of an eater. Looking back now I think maybe I was. I won't eat cooked tomatoes...but I LOVE LOVE LOVE fresh tomatoes with salt and pepper. I don't like onions in my food but I will eat onion rings if they are thin. I eat with my eyes...if it doesn't look appetizing...I will NOT try it. Same goes with smelling. Maybe I'm just weird...There are other things I won't eat but this isn't about me.

My kids...can be the easiest and hardest to please when it comes to food. One day they will like something then the next they won't.

Little Girl (2 1/2) is the easiest by far. She will practically eat anything you put in front of her. She isn't a big fan of meat but she has a hard time chewing and swallowing sometimes. Her absolute favorite is yogurt.

The boys are a different story though.

Boy #1(7): Won't eat corn off the cob...but will devour corn on the cob. Won't eat cubed potatoes but will eat mashed potatoes or a baked potato. He is also like me in the cooked tomatoes and onions things...really all the boys are. He also says he doesn't like chicken but we are trying to get over that. One of his favorites to eat is Chicken Spaghetti.

Boy #2 (6): He will put up a fight over new things saying he doesn't like it when he's never tried it. Majority of the things he does indeed like and asks for more and more. His favorite thing to eat is cheese enchiladas and his least favorite is cereal...

Boy # (5): He will eat anything. Usually not a big amount though. He wants to eat and be done so that he can do other things. If you put alot(to him) on his plate he will get upset...even when you tell him it's ok if he can't eat it all. He is usually the one that wants to help cook and is first to ask what are we eating.

Boys #1 and 2 will eat 2nds and 3rds of foods the like...well they will eat it until there is no more. The way they eat now I'm afraid to see them as teenagers. I try to feed a crowd now...I will be attempting to feed a small country when they are older.

Usually the more simple a dinner is the happier the kids are. They don't want alot of veggies so I try to sneak them in any way I can...but they are smart kids so I have to get smarter with this!! I should probably be trying to broaden their palette but I have a hard time eating new things as well...I'm not really setting the best example for them but if I won't eat it then I don't cook it...if I don't cook I don't force them to eat it either....

But I can NOT get it through my husband's head about the budget.

We've talked it over QUITE a few times...yet he isn't following it!

How am I supposed to keep things on track if he isn't helping??

We bought food for him to take for lunch at work...but 2 days this week he bought lunch out.

Now I have set aside $40 for each of us out of each check that can be used on whatever...but he is down to a little over $12.00 and still has the rest of this week plus all next week.

How do I get it through his head? It's slightly aggravating since I spend alot of time figure out ways for us to save money and HAVE MONEY IN THE CHECKING ACCOUNT...but he doesn't pay that any attention...

Someone please tell me how to solve this problem before I strangle him...pregnancy hormones and emotions don't take well to not being listened to...at least for me....The Domesticated Housewifehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16482179566228482753noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7622873231052474382.post-30373039225271261852011-01-05T21:05:00.001-06:002011-01-06T09:02:58.890-06:00Daily CleaningBefore I begin I have to admit that I absolutely hate cleaning. Who doesn't right? Surely I'm not alone with that thought?? I feel like more time could be spent with my family if there wasn't so much cleaning. But let's face it...the house has to be <strike>clean</strike> presentable at all times...at least that's how I see it. There have been plenty of times though that some one stopped by my house unexpectedly and got to witness toys scattered, dishes in the sink, food on the floor, folded clothes on the couch, etc...you know what I mean. I got embarrassed at first but quickly realized that is part of having a family and kids. You can't expect perfection unless you are Martha Stewart and uhh...I'm not her nor do I wish to be.

So anyways I had decided that I needed to do just a little cleaning daily to keep the house presentable at all times. Of course there will always be toys everywhere because we have <strike>4</strike> soon to be 5 kids. I've tried different approaches to this "daily cleaning" but nothing ever stuck. I would do it a few days at a time then something would come up or we had early morning appointments and the cleaning got pushed to the side. For some reason I just can not get into cleaning after lunch time. I felt like if I hadn't done it by that point I wasn't getting it done...so I didn't.

Obviously that hasn't worked out too well for me. Plus with a family the size of ours we ALWAYS have something going on whether it be in the morning, afternoon, or evening so I had to figure out something that would work for me. This is one of my goals for the new year. To come up with a new cleaning schedule that worked...and stick to it! So far I've only come up with my daily cleaning schedule and I haven't really tested it out so we shall see!

I know you are bored so I'll quit rambling and give you my plan! About half is done in the morning while the rest would have to be done at night. If done according to plan the house should stay in a reasonably decent shape all the time.

Master Bathroom
This is where I start my day anyways so starting to clean here in the morning would be the most logical.
-Put up anything that doesn't belong on top of counter
-Wipe counter and sinks with a wash rag
-Using only a toilet brush (no cleaner) clean the inside of toilet (just making it white)
-Check to see if trash needs taken out
-Take dirty clothes to laundry room

Master Bedroom
-Make bed
-Put away anything that belongs in the room
-Anything that doesn't belong in room goes into basket to be put up when I make it to that room

Kitchen
Morning
-Unload dishwasher
-Reload with dishes from breakfast (and again at lunch)
Night
-Load dishwasher and turn it on
-Handwash anything necessary
-Wipe counters and table
-Sweep floor
-Change rag and towel
**Nightly kitchen duties are done with the help of children so it may take a little longer than if I did it alone.

Living Room
-Pick up anything out of place. If it doesn't belong in there put it in the basket.

Kid's Rooms
Night as part of their chores
-Clean room (toys picked up, shoes in right place)
-Get out next day's clothes and set on dresser
-Any dirty clothes to laundry room

Kid's Bathroom
-Wipe counter and sink with rag
-Wipe inside of toilet with brush
-Check trash
-Kid's take dirty clothes to laundry room after bath time

**Basket with misplaced things will be emptied as I go through each room or after I have finished everything else.**

I'm going to try to do the morning chores first thing in the morning even if we have to go somewhere early that way when we get home it is done and I don't have to worry about it. I'm going to time it in the morning to see how long it takes me without rushing to complete everything and I will update when I know. The list seems kind of long but nothing should take more than a minute.

~As long as this works out for me I can cross this off my goal list!! ~

The baby will be here in right about 2 months and I had planned to have about 20 meals in the freezer when he arrived. What’s my progress?? Ugh…Z-E-R-0…I know right…I have a lot to get accomplished! So my plan is to make 10 meals in both January and February giving me my goal. I hope it works!! Say a prayer for me please because this is going to get hectic!

I’m actually only making 6 different meals that will hopefully turn into 10 meals when I’m done!

I plan to make more waffles to freeze but that is not a huge priority for this cooking day because I can make these really anytime. Plus the kids would probably rather have some kind of cereal anyways.

I’m also going to be making some kinds of snacks to either freeze or just be able to store so that we don’t have to buy a ton of prepackaged snack foods.

So here we go…are you ready??

1.<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman";"> Breakfast Burritos – I’m going to make about 24 of these which will make 2 meals plus some to actually have for breakfast or snacking!!

2.<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman";"> Cheeseburger and Fries Casserole – 2 meals

3.<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman";"> Chicken Quesadillas – 1 meal

4.<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman";"> Mexican Stuffed Shells – 2 meals

5.<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman";"> Taco Casserole – 1 meal

6.<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman";"> Ham and Potato Casserole – 2 meals

I hope I am not piling my plate too high since the things will be out of whack once the baby gets here. Then again these habits could help keep some order in my life after he gets here!

January Habit:

Showering and getting dressed FIRST thing in the morning; Hair and makeup too.

Some days I get so overwhelmed with what needs to be done that I don’t even take a shower! Gross huh? Then there are days where I’m just being lazy around the house and something comes up where I need to leave ASAP or soon after that…I start stressing because I’m not ready! Of course I always feel better about myself anyways when I’ve done my hair and makeup…even looking like a huge whale right now. I don’t have to look like I’m ready for a date night or anything special…just presentable.

I’m also going to set out my clothes the night before so there is no guessing in the morning and I know I have clean clothes!

If you are a stay at home mom do you get dressed first thing in the morning or whenever you feel like it?
The Domesticated Housewifehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16482179566228482753noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7622873231052474382.post-38161294930932010332011-01-03T18:02:00.001-06:002011-01-17T20:27:24.106-06:00January 2011 GoalsI've made a master list of my 2011 goals that can be found here.
I have decided to do my reading before bed since that is after all the kids are in bed and I actually have a quiet house.

Monday's reading assignment is: Genesis 1:1- Genesis 16:16

**I just finished today's reading assignment! The first scripture in the Bible is what sticks out to me. Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. He is responsible for us being here today! We did not "just happen" as some people would believe. Everything from the heavens to the earth was made with a purpose. His plan.

Would you like to join me (along with several hundred others) in reading the Bible in 90 days?

Go to Mom’s Toolbox and join!
I knew it would happen...but I thought maybe...just maybe...since I hadn't gained that much weight they wouldn't be as noticeable....

I was wrong....

They are there! With my first child seeing stretch marks made it seem like I would never be my old self again. There were tons of them...I did gain 80 lbs though.

No one told me to watch my weight to an extent while I was pregnant then. And let me tell you something...I didn't! I ate anything and everything in sight for 7 straight months. I would wake up in the middle of the night and cook a box of macaroni and cheese...and eat the ENTIRE box.

I never lost all of the baby weight either. I was actually only 10 lbs away from that goal during 2009's summer. Then I got married...became a stay at home mom to not only 1 child but 3 more! You would think chasing after 4 kids would make you lose a little weight...yea it didn't! So since then I had gained about oh...25 lbs...before I got pregnant. I was just at the point of getting into new eating and exercising habits when Drew and I decided we wanted a baby together...well no point in trying to lose that weight for awhile.

We found out I was pregnant shortly before the 5th week. For the next 7 weeks I couldn't eat anything and could only drink water. I stayed incredibly tired and worn out. I didn't remember the last pregnancy being like that. Well for my first 3 OB appointments over 3 months I lost weight...and kept losing it. Oh but finally the appetite came back and I could drink coke again...so the weight has come back. I've actually gained about 15 lbs and I have 9 weeks to go. I'm hoping that these last 2 months don't mean an extreme weight gain for me. I'm trying to eat the healthy foods...less junk food...and I'm back to drinking only water.

But...I still have stretch marks...I am ok with that though...it means I have a precious child living and growing inside of me and for that I couldn't be happier. These stretch marks remind me that I am a MOMMY and I should be VERY proud of them! In just a few shorts weeks we will welcome Jaxon Hugh into our family and I can NOT wait! I'm so excited!!

Anyways...just thought I would share that little bit of info with you!

That is Jaxon at 19 weeks. I'm so ready for another ultrasound to see him again! The Domesticated Housewifehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16482179566228482753noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7622873231052474382.post-67408335494470135012011-01-02T14:46:00.000-06:002011-01-02T14:46:52.696-06:00Declutter Challenge Update and Deep Cleaning
DeClutter Challenge Update

I went through all of my holiday decorations and got rid of quite a few items that I don’t want to use anymore. I also cleaned off a book shelf that is in my room and packed up some stuff that I don’t have room for but don’t want to get rid of.

Time for a deep clean?

I feel like all I do is clean, clean, clean EVERY day. I never have time to just sit and relax. As this pregnancy is coming to end I need to be relaxing as much as possible…but I just can’t with a messy house. It is definitely time to enlist the aid of the husband!! I usually try to keep him out of cleaning because let’s face it…a man’s CLEAN is not a woman’s CLEAN…and I end up going back over whatever he does. I’m still in the process of decluttering and organizing the house but it just doesn’t seem like I’m making progress…in my eyes at least.

So I’m thinking there can’t be a better way to start off the new year than with a REALLY…and I MEAN REALLY clean house. Right? There are 6 of us…soon to be 7…living in a 3 bedroom house. There is no extra room for messiness around here. If one thing is out of place it throws the ENTIRE room off.

I normally do each room’s cleaning on a certain day of the week. So sticking with that I am going to add DEEP cleaning to it this week. If I can get everything accomplished…with some help…then I can lay off a lot of the cleaning I do on a daily basis.

Do you want to join in on some New Year Deep Cleaning? Grab your cleaning bucket and let’s go…ok really we will start bright and early tomorrow morning.

Monday – Kitchen and dining area

Tuesday – Living room and laundry room/pantry

Wednesday – Bathrooms (2)

Thursday – Master bedroom and closet

Friday – Kid’s rooms

A detailed list of what I will be cleaning can be found HERE for you to use if you like!

I'm not very sure why that even surprises me either. Maybe it is just part of this pregnancy mood I'm having again today.

Drew and I went to town today to do a little shopping for baby and to get me a few more maternity shirts since my belly has outgrown everything. Well none of that happened. Sparing you most of the details my pregnancy hormones kicked into high gear, made me incredibly irritable and emotional...so we came home...with him mad that we wasted the gas and time going over there. It take a little under an hour for us to get to "town"...and nothing was accomplished.

On another note...I drank a coke...and didn't start my book today. So already I'm being hard on myself for not having the will power to stick to the goals I have in mind for myself this year. I'm hoping that once baby gets here these moods will become a thing of the past...Drew doesn't quite understand them nor does he know how to handle me when they arise...making things worse.

I definitely hope that this is not how the rest of my year will go.

How did your New Year start off? Surely better than mine!!!
I have good and bad feelings about 2010 as our family has had PLENTY of ups and downs.

We had months that were nothing but pure stress that almost pushed us to the point of giving up and giving in. We knew we were doing what was right and that is what kept us pushing on and we ended up coming out on top and getting exactly what we wanted all along. We still have our days where trying to blend a family is still hard but it gets easier as every day passes. We also had months of nothing but pure joy and happiness! We found out that we would be expecting baby #5! We moved a little bit closer to town...10 minutes give or take a few...but we now live next to Drew's mom and on the other side of her house is his sister's house. It's nice to have family right next to you!

Hopefully 2011 will bring a much better year for us in all areas of our lives. We have set quite a few goals for our family and I know that we can accomplish them! In just 2 short months we will welcome a new baby to our family and I couldn't be more excited.

What plans do we have for this New Year's Eve? ...............Drew and I just sitting at home together enjoying each other's company!

So from my family to yours we would like to wish you a Happy New Year and many good blessings! Please be careful tonight and every night for that matter.

See you next year!!

There is so much I can think of that I don’t know where to start! HaHa!

I am the youngest of 5 siblings (3 sisters and 1 brother). I was/am the favorite child although no one will admit it. It’s because I am the sweetest and never do wrong…at least that’s what my parents know and no one will tell them any different…ok?

Up until 7th grade I was a straight “A” student. My grades and views on school changed when I went to a private school. I have negative thoughts on private schools now but we aren’t talking about that!! I did go back to public school for high school and was 8th in my class. I was more interested in boys than in my school work then so grades definitely could have been better!

At 17 I had my first child and he changed my life in so many ways…wonderful ways! I never knew the love you could have for a person until I looked into his eyes for the first time! I also never knew a child could look so much like a parent until seeing him. He is a boy mini version of me! You can see us away from each other and know that we are mom and son!!

I was in a car accident on February 27, 2009 and it’s a miracle I’m alive today. I really can’t even tell you exactly what happened. All that I remember is that I started going around a curve and the back end of the car came around and I blacked out. When I came to I was sitting on the roof of the car in the back seat with my legs around the driver seat. I broke my back in 5 places, broke my right collarbone, and fractured my left shoulder blade. You never think something like that will ever happen to you and I learned then that I am not invincible. I always wear my seat belt now by the way. Although I think if I would have had it on in that wreck it would have killed me. I do know that I was speeding. I should have gotten the sign God was sending me when 2 weeks before the accident I got a speeding ticket for doing 74 in a 55 mph zone. I pay closer attention to what He tells me now. Without Him I would not be here.

I met Drew on January 9, 2009 and fell in love with him the next week. It was actually my son that showed me how wonderful Drew was. I was skeptical about Hudson meeting him because I didn’t want him to get attached but Drew was amazing with Hudson and has been ever since. We got married on November 7, 2009 and I fall more in love with him every day.

Drew has 3 children from his previous marriage that we have every other week. They are just as awesome as he is!! His little girl Avery was born with a heart defect and chromosome deletion that has put her behind developmentally. She has speech, occupational, and physical therapy every week. Our life together is quite hectic at time but I wouldn’t change it for a thing. So together we have 3 boys ages 7, 6, 5 and a little girl age 2 ½ and a baby boy on the way…he should be here in about 9 weeks.

This might be a little too much info for you but I have recently decided that I want to breastfeed this baby and it terrifies me. I tried with my son and it just didn’t work out for us so I’m scared that will happen again. I’m trying my best to stay positive about it because it is the healthiest option for him and of course I want the best for my kids!

This pregnancy has flown by so fast that it amazes me. Literally, we have not bought anything yet but a few outfits. So I’m starting to stress over that. I know it will all come together but I am not a procrastinator…at least I used to not be! The baby shower is going to be February 5th and Jaxon is due on March 6th…sort of cutting it close!

Anyways…there is a little bit of information about me! Hope you enjoyed!

If you think you might would like hearing more from me and my homemaking adventures please consider becoming a follower!
Ashley
Well really just Drew because he did the most work! My niece came to stay with us for a few days and last night we went out to eat. Well we get home and she starts saying she doesn't feel very good. I give her some medicine and put her in my bed to watch tv...not 20 minutes later I hear **PUKING**! I swear I can hear it a mile away! I'm just not good with that...it makes ME sick. So Drew cleaned most of it up and I scrubbed the carpet. I'm so glad I have a wonderful husband!

So today I have been washing all of our bedding and disinfecting the house just incase it is the stomach bug! I also finally got our cleaned and organized! This weekend we will be able to put up the baby bed! I'm so excited! Only 9 weeks to go!! It is going to be here before I even know it!!! It's getting somewhat stressful though because literally we have only bought about 4 outfits...and that's it! We are also going to be doing some baby shopping this weekend!!

I'm busy trying to get my menu plan, grocery list, and January freezer cooking list all together! Tonight we are going to have Spaghetti Pie! It looks wonderful to me but I LOVE spaghetti and could eat it all the time!

I got the recipe from The Happy Housewife. Be sure to check out all the other great stuff she has also!

Hope everyone has a great day!!The Domesticated Housewifehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16482179566228482753noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7622873231052474382.post-47277238850720503962010-12-29T10:04:00.001-06:002010-12-29T13:04:43.283-06:00Wednesday CleaningOf course today is another cleaning day! When is it not?? Never around here!!

Today I will be in the Living Room.

First I am going to get out any clutter before I start to clean. You can't clean clutter, right? This room also has the most Christmas decorations but those are still waiting to be put up. There were quite a few decorations I didn't use this year so I am going to decide which ones I really like and which ones to give away. Then what I decide to keep will be packed up and sent back to the storage building!

Ok now the clutter is gone...what's next? The cleaning.

*<strike>Get my misplaced things basket and find anything that doesn't belong in the living room</strike>. Once I'm completely done with the living room I will take all the misplaced things to where they DO belong.

*Dust

*<strike>Vacuum</strike>

*Clean my desk off and organize everything...again...

That's another easy day right!! Shouldn't take any time!

Then of course there is another load of laundry...like always...

I better get started!! Have a good day!
